Don Johnson was trained in mediation at Hamline University Graduate School and Southern
Metropolitan Mediation Services in 2001.   He has experience in Ramsey County Housing Court and
Small Claims Court.  Now he brings this experience to Relationship Therapy St. Paul.

This is how he describes his work with couples:
“This is not a legal decision process.  I help couples solve problems and get back to agreement and
team work.   I’m not interested in who is right or wrong, who wins, but a solution you can both live
with.   It is problem solving in the best sense . . . to arrive at a place where you are working with
each other and not against each other.
Bottom line:  I help couples turn unhappy disagreement into
satisfying cooperation”.

Don Johnson has a B.A. from Bethel College of St. Paul, Minnesota and a subsequent Theology
Degree from Bethel Theological Seminary.  He consulted in Organizational
Development for over twenty years and has been a lecturer, Training Director and published author.
He teaches Parents Forever, the state mandated program for divorcing parents.  In addition he
teaches weekly Positive Parenting Classes, an offering of the University of Minnesota Extension
Service, with male and female inmates at the Washington County, MN Jail.

When he is not involved in working with parents and couples, he enjoys writing fiction and poetry.
